Surbhi Mahajan, Research and Documentation

Relevant Experience:
Junior Research Associate with CORD (Collaborative Research and Dissemination), New Delhi. (February 2009-July 2010). Worked on DFID (Department of Funding International Development) project RECOUP (Research Consortium on Education Outcomes and Poverty) undertaking multi-theme based studies such as Health and Fertility, Skills, Youth, Gender and Citizenship, Public-Private Partnership in Education and others. She had been involved in report writing for the theme Youth, Gender and Citizenship. More recently she had been part of the qualitative study on the public private partnerships in education with an attempt to understand the provision of education by public and private providers, drawing on the concepts of ‘school choice’, 'voice' and 'exit/entry', to examine individual behaviour within organizations that operate under the rules of the market. Job responsibilities entailed fieldwork, documentation, coding and writing analytical reports.

Recently, at the Writer’s Workshop organized internally by CORD, the team presented individual papers based on the field data. The paper focused on ‘Factors Governing School Choice and Exit’. (July 2010)

Presently, she has undertaken the responsibilities of research, documentation and marketing at LearningInq.
